A group photo  taken at the  Wargames Holiday Center, replaying Waterloo. Players includes back row left Mark Freeth , Mike Ingham center back row Dave Docherty front row left, Doug Mason front row center Paul Williamson next to Peter Gilder right front row.This refight was Peter Gilders last wargame, he took the role of Napoleon while Mike Ingham fought as Wellington, myself in the natty pelisse took on the personer of Ney. I think the fight took place in 1995, if anyone can correct me on this please do.

    It must have been earlier than 1995. I think Peter died in the early nineties. The obituary was in WI in 1991 - I think.

    1. Cheers Mike you are right, as Dave Doc mentions it was the 175th. anniversary of Watterloo, 1990. The photo is treasured by myself and sits framed in my workshop Peter Gilder still watching over my shoulder or should that be solder? Regards Doug.

  3. Hi Doc thanks for the info was it really 1990 my memory really is bad must be all that lead iv'e inhaled over the past 50 years, and yes you know I got a good hiding that last day of the game. Cheers mate.

    1. I know what you mean re the memory... its the solder fumes,,, you were not the only one that day - i got a good kicking too - trying to hold off the Prussians!
