This set of prints are paper soldiers by the French artist Jean Auge and were published the 1930s. This set was the first in a series which was to cover Napoleons army, as far as I know only first set were published. The art work is so fine and detailed they really are a joy to own.

Hi Doug,
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic. Can you believe in all my years I have never seen these prints before. The detail is fanatastic. Thanks very much for posting.
The prints really are a pleasure. The horses alone are worth seeing. They capture the elan of the age of the Empire. It's a treat to see them.

They are nice, they have been in my collection for about 35 years, I swopped a board game for them all those years ago, I have seen the same set on Ebay for about £150.00. Mind you they 70-80 years old.
ReplyDeleteThanks for watching the Blog.
