Morning Doug! Happy to see you are still plugging away, and this time with an extremely impressive highland brigade. Your work has been an inspiration to me for many years now. Did you use all acrylics to paint these, or did some oils creep into your treatment of these latest two units.
Hi my friend work on the hobby has had to be put on the back burner for the last 18 months due to family illness, but I'me slowly getting back into the saddle. The answer to your question the medium is enamel, I've always painted with Humbrel paint, I do use oils for horses though.
Lovely results whatever the medium. Humbrols have become less easy to find in the U.S., so I use a mix of diluted oils and hobby acrylics for detailing. Nowhere near as perfect as yours, but I keep trying. Glad to hear you are getting back into the swing of things hobby-wise.

ReplyDeleteExcellent highlanders Doug, I have some in 40mm, they will need painting at some time, but bayonets are broken off.
